A Week in the Savannah

A recap of our Norway-adventure.

So, we did a lot of things in Norway and some of them we managed to capture on film, we have therefore put together a little video for you to see. Also don’t forget that if you are between 21 and 27 years old from Norway or Colombia you still have the chance to apply...
Last days of an amazing journey in Norway

Last days of an amazing journey in Norway

Moving to another city, sharing experiences with new people and walk on different sideways. These were just some of the common things that happened from August until December to David and Me. Thinking about all the moments we spent in Norway, the activities we planned and in general all the laughs is a little bit...

Verden i Bergen Christmas party!

Friday last week we hosted a party for the ones that attended Verden i Bergen earlier this summer and fall (you can read more about that here and here). It was a traditional Norwegian Christmas party, with rice porrigde, ginger bread, Christmas soda and lots of candy. Of course we also hid some almonds in the porridge,...
Verden på Stord!

Verden på Stord!

So last weekend we had an amazing trip to Stord, which is an island 2 hours away from Bergen. Our purpose to be in Stord was because we were leaders at a Mosaic-project similar to Verden i Bergen (See more here and here). This was off course much smaller than what we did in Bergen, because...
Colombian Christmas!

Colombian Christmas!

A couple of weeks ago, we had the gingerbread-house-activity. It was great to experience a typical Norwegian christmas tradition. But in Colombia we also have our traditions. With David, I decided that it was time to show Norway and CISV-Hordaland members what christmas is like in Colombia. To make it simple we made Buñuelos and...

Trip to Lebanon!

Last week I had a very different and exciting trip. I went to Lebanon, to visit a refugee camp and live there for some days. This was not a part of The Jirafa Project, but of another project by the organization Fantasiforbundet. This project also is about writing and editing a book, but about a slightly different...
My heart is on fire! Not.

My heart is on fire! Not.

As emphasised in earlier blog posts a part of this project is also the cultural exchange. So last week Sigrid and I made the Colombians try all sorts of Norwegian food we knew they had not tried. One of these things was rømmegrøt! And as Juanda briefly said: I dont like it! Besides trying out...
Peace Trumps and Fall Meeting!

Norway in a Nutshell

Norway in a Nutshell

Hei hei! An important part of this project is based on the cultural experience and exchange, looking forward to accomplish this, yesterday we took a wonderful trip called Norway in a Nutshell, a longer but nicer way to go from Bergen to Oslo. We took trains, a bus and a boat for a total of...
Mini-camp in Os

Mini-camp in Os

This weekend two of the Jirafas (May and David) went to Os to participate in their mini-camp. Hordaland is the biggest CISV-chapter in Norway with six smaller local chapters. Every month some of these local chapters host mini-trips (11-13 years) and midi-trips (13-15). This is for new members to get to know CISV, and for...
